Itinerary
  • Introduction
  • Day 01 - Airport - Kandy
    Arrive by flight and you will be transferred to the arrival terminal. Please clear immigration & visa formalities, collect your baggage and proceed to the arrival lounge through the green channel if you do not have goods to be declared to customs. You will meet one of the Representatives of Apple Vacations will assist you as he will be having a paging board with your name in the meeting area, and he will introduce you to your own English speaking chauffeur guide who will transfer you to the hotel in Kandy. (Pick up at airport or Colombo City) The lower hill region is surrounded by lush hills and breath taking views.

  • Day 02 - Kandy
    After the Breakfast at the hotel & Visit to Peradeniya,

    Royal Botanical Gardens of Peradeniya, and go for a stroll in the 147-acre grounds. See over 4,000 different species of plants, including an exclusive collection of orchids, spices, and medicinal plants. Learn the history of the 19th-century gardens, and see famous plants such as the cannonball tree, giant fig tree, and 40-meter tall Burma bamboo. Next visit to Temple of tooth,

    Temple of the Tooth Relic, which houses the Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha, is an important landmark in Kandy. The Tooth is kept in a two-storey shrine fronted by two large elephant tusks and rests on a gold lotus flower, encased in jewelled casket that sits on a throne. The temple is decorated with beautiful local paintings and architectural features.

  • Day 03 - Kandy - Sigiriya
    After breakfast at the hotel & Journey starts towards Sigiriya,

    En Route to visit Cave temple The Dambulla Cave Temple was built by King Walagambahu in the 1st century B.C. and it is a World Heritage Site. It is the most impressive of Sri Lanka's cave temples. The complex of five caves with over 2000 sq. meters of painted walls and ceilings is the largest area of paintings found in the world. It contains over 150 images of the Buddha of which the largest is the colossal figure of the Buddha carved out of rock and spanning 14 meters.   • Day 04 - Sigiriya - Polonnaruwa
    After the Breakfast at Proceed to Polonnaruwa,

    En route to Visit Sigiriya

    Climb the 5th century Sigiriya Rock Fortress, which is a world heritage site, built by King Kashyapa (477-495 AD). The ''Lion Rock'' is a citadel of unusual beauty rising 200 meters from the scrub jungle. The rock was the innermost stronghold of the 70-hectare fortified town. A moat, rampart, and extensive gardens including the renowned water gardens ring the base of the rock. Visit the world-renowned frescoes of the ''Heavenly Maidens'' of Sigiriya, which are in a sheltered pocket of the rock approached by a spiral stairway. These frescoes are painted in earth pigments on plaster.

    Polonnaruwa - The Capital of Sri Lanka from 11th - 13th Century contains some splendid and spectacular statues. Lankatileke, Tivanka and Thuparama are the most beautiful and largest shrine ruins and Tivanka has the best example of frescoes of the Polonnaruwa period. Rankot Vihara and Kiriwehera are well preserved large stupas, and Gal Vihara - a rock shrine, has four Buddha statues, two seated, one standing and one reclining and Parakrama Bahu statue are examples of Sinhalese stone carver. The Vata-da-ge is a unique creation of the Sri Lankan artists.

  • Day 05 - Polonnaruwa - Anuradhapura
    After breakfast at the hotel Transfer to Anuradhapura,

    Continue your journey to Anuradhapura for the following three nights. This path, which passes through rice fields and farms, is ideal for spotting local animals. The evening is free to spend at the hotel relaxing.

  • Day 06 - Anuradhapura 2nd Day
    After breakfast at the hotel Transfer to Mihintale,

    Mihintale is a mountain peak near Anuradhapura. It is believed by Sri Lankans to be the site of a meeting between the Buddhist monk Mahinda and King Devanampiyatissa which inaugurated the presence of Buddhism in Sri Lanka. It is now a pilgrimage site, and the site of several religious monuments and abandoned structures.

  • Day 07 - Anuradhapura 3rd Day
    After breakfast at the hotel visit Wilpattu National park,

    Located on the northwest coast of Sri Lanka's lowland dry zone. Enter the vast nature reserve, declared a national park in 1938, and discover the unique will us water basins that fill with rainwater. Look for native wildlife, including herds of elephants in their natural habitat. Keep a look out for elusive leopards, along with spotted deer, sambar deer, barking deer, wild boar, wild buffalo, sloth bear, mongoose, crocodiles, and peacocks. Get some free time to enjoy a local lunch at the nearby Hotel, at your own expense.

  • DAY 08 - Anuradhapura - Jaffna
    After the Breakfast Transfer to Jaffna,

    After breakfast, you'll travel up to the extreme north of the nation to Jaffna, a gorgeous region with a violent past and significant Tamil influence; it's a one-of-a-kind spot to see in Sri Lanka.

  • Day 11 - Jaffna - Trincomalee
    Breakfast at the hotel & Journey starts towards Trincomalee,

    Trincomalee is a lovely tiny town on Sri Lanka's east coast. Trincomalee is one of the nicest beaches in Sri Lanka, with gorgeous white sand. The east coast is emerging and much quieter than the south, which is an excellent incentive to come.

  • Day 12 - Trincomalee 2nd Day

    Sri Lanka is quickly becoming one of the most popular destinations for viewing both blue and sperm whales, which can be spotted off the island's southern coast. The optimum time to visit is between December and April, when the sea is calm and these magnificent beasts pass through Sri Lankan seas.

  • Day 13 - Trincomalee – Colombo
    Breakfast at the hotel & head on to Colombo.

    Take a domestic flight back to Colombo today. If flights connect, you may be able to fly out internationally on the same day, otherwise, stop in Colombo for one night. Spend the evening relaxing or exploring one of Colombo's markets.
